Delays

As you all know, there is a lot of new items that are about to be released onto live soon. Due to this we stalled with all guides and we are waiting to see how will the new items effect champions. We will be releasing new guides as soon as we are fully sure that everything will work properly. We weren't able to test anything on the P.B.E. yet 'cause we have no time to wait that much.

Thank you for your patience!

We wish you all the best on fields of justice!

Introducing: Galio, the Sentinel's Sorrow

One more guide coming today: Galio, the Sentinel's Sorrow.

Galio is one of the most underrated tank supports in the game. Even though he is really good, many people avoid him for some reasons unknown to us.

Many people think that Galio is actually tank character who should buy support items but we say that that's one of the key mistakes players make. Galio can be played numerous ways, one of which, we will show you, because it is the best one.

When playing Galio, your advantages are that you have great range and damage, but you don't actually need to build it. His mobility is decent as well, but his defense is even greater than his damage output. Strategically, Galio is one of the most favorable solo top character in Troll Patrol.

Disadvantages when playing Galio are that his player needs to know how to position, to have quick and good reflexes and to be able to play aggressively.

Galio, unlike other support tanks, is not to be played as a bottom support, but rather as a solo top character. We will explain more in Tips & Tricks segment.

Summoner Spells:

Exhaust - You will need it in team fights so you should pick it. Galio doesn't actually need spells while playing solo lane.

Smite - Even though you are not jungling, you can use smite to gain even more gold and minions, this is what NJ does all the time.

Replacement for Smite:

Flash - It will help you initiate, nothing more.

Clarity - Galio uses a lot of mana, so getting this spell is not that bad.

Skills:

Runic Skin (Passive) Galio converts 50% of his total magic resistance into ability power.

Explanation: This passive allows Galio to be strong early game without even buying ability power.

Resolute Smite Active: Galio fires a concussive blast from his eyes to a target location, dealing magic damage to all enemies hit and reducing their movement speed for 2.5 seconds.
Cooldown: 7 seconds
Range to Center of AoE: 900
Radius of AoE: 175
Projectile Speed: 1300

Cost: 60/65/70/75/80 mana
Magic Damage: 80/135/190/245/300 (+0.6 per ability power)
Slow: 24/28/32/36/40 %

Explanation: This is your main damaging spell in solo lane and in team fights. Spam it whenever it's out of cooldown. Use it to damage minions or take down enemy's hp down. Use it to slow the chasing enemy as well. Take a first point of it early on and max parallelly with 'w' spell.

Bulwark Active: Galio shields an allied champion for 4 seconds, increasing their armor and magic resistance. Each time that unit takes damage, Galio is healed. The heal is 20% weaker than the last for each consecutive hit.
Cost: 60 mana
Cooldown: 13 seconds
Range: 800

Bonus Armor & Magic Resistance: 30/45/60/75/90
Heal: 25/40/55/70/85 (+0.3 per ability power)
Heal after 5 hits: 84/134/185/235/286 (+1.01 per ability power)
Maximum Heal (∞ hits): 125/200/275/350/425 (+1.5 per ability power)

Explanation: This is not that important spell in early game, but in late game is your best friend. :) It will heal you and give you magic resistance and armor as well. Take a first point on level 3 but max it parallelly with your 'q' spell.

Righteous Gust Active: Galio unleashes a gust of magical wind that deals magic damage to all enemies in its path. A directional draft remains for 5 seconds, increasing the movement speed of allies passing through it.
Cooldown: 12 seconds
Range: 1000

Cost: 70/75/80/85/90 mana
Magic Damage: 60/105/150/195/240 (+0.5 per ability power)
Movement Speed Bonus: 20/28/36/44/52 %

Explanation: Use this spell in combination with 'q' spell to finish off minions or to give speed to your allies when retreating or when chasing the enemies down.

Idol of Durand Active: Galio channels for 2 seconds, taunting nearby foes and reducing incoming damage by 50%.After channeling, Galio deals magic damage to surrounding enemies, plus an additional 5% damage for each attack suffered while channeling and capping at 40% bonus damage.
Radius of AoE: 600

Cost: 100/150/200 mana
Cooldown: 170/150/130 seconds
Base Magic Damage: 220/330/440 (+0.6 per ability power)
Maximum Magic Damage: 308/462/616 (+0.84 per ability power)

Explanation: This is Galio's main spell in team fights. This will make enemies rage a lot if you successfully use it all the time. Use it in team fights to create an opening for your teammates or to disrupt the chasing enemy who has gap closing skills and because of that you won't be able to catch him.

Note of caution: We recommend that you always put a shield on yourself when casting this ultimate because you will lose less health due to bonus armor it provides and healing, and you will definitely avoid the death situation.

Building:

Starting:

Meki Pendant, 2 health potions

This way you will secure your early dominance. You will deal up with your mana issues, but, furthermore, you will be able to return your health if the enemy successfully harasses you.

Early game goals:

Boots of Speed

To gain more mobility go for Boots of Speed. You won't need full shoes just yet.

Zhonya's Hourglass

This should be your next item. This will help you a lot in early game, but as well as in late game. It will provide you with armor, ability power and you will make yourself harder to be killed. Never forget to use its effect if in pinch situations, though.

Negatron Cloack

This will give you more magical resistance and thanks to passive even more ability power.

Middle game goals:

Chalice of Harmony

Unlike mage do, you don't need this item early on. You will just need to buy it now because of the late game.

Banshee's Veil

Use the Negatron Cloack and upgrade it to this item. You will gain everything you need now with this choice.

Mercury's Threads

It's finally time to improve your shoes. Go for these ones because it will make you even more tenkier.

Guardian Angel

Rushing Guardian Angel is important now. After this item, you won't be able to die thanks to this item's ability, Zhonya's and thanks to your 'w' spell. Furthermore, you will have a lot of armor and magical resistance and no one would be able to counter you. You will be able to solo with enemy AD carry.

Late game goals:

Athene's Unholy Grail

This is the fifth item you should get. This item you should get more because of magic resistance which, when scaled with passive, give even more ability power than it does already.

Situational items:

Note: You will probably end the game before you even get to buy your sixth item, but here is what you could go for if you get enough gold for it.

Frozen Heart

This will give you even more armor, but not only that, it will give you cooldown reduction you may use well.

Frozen Heart

This will give you more health and slow effect with each of your basic attacks.

Rylai's Crystal Scepter

If you see enemies buying tenacity to counter your ultimate, go for this item as they won't be able to run, due to the slow.

Sunfire Cape

It is good if you want to deal even more damage. When you ult, they will come in range of this spell and you will make even greater damage.

Rod of Ages

Though this is the early game item, you can still make use of it in late game.

Rabadon's Deathcap

This is to be get if you want even more AP.

Abyssal Scepter

Get this if you want to support your team a bit.

Tips & Tricks:

Galio is not that good support because he is type of character who needs farm and gold. He is more like carry tank support rather than support. So don't ever try to play him bottom lane. His place is in top lane.

If starting in purple team and your jungler is starting off at blue, using your smite, kill the golems for the early gold head-start.

Use smite whenever possible to add more gold to your count.

Spam your 'q' ability on the enemy and try to hit him / her. This way you will successfully harass them out of the lane.

Use your 'q' to damage minions and than use your 'e' spell to finish them off.

If carrying flash, use it to come in centre of the battle and then you should use your ultimate.

Always stay in front of your teammates because you can receive almost infinity amount of damage and not die.

Never forget to use your Zhonya's to save yourself from bad situations.

Use your 'e' spell to boost up your allies when retreating or when chasing the enemies.

Use your 'w' spell to shield up an ally. Shield up an ally in team fight. This way you will be able to heal even though you are not getting hit.

Troll Patrol

Introducing: Elise, the Spider Queen

We think that Elise will be free to play on Tuesday, so we wanted to release the build for her. Look it closely up because this is not what you will expect to play with Elise.

Elise is AP based champion who has two forms, a human form, where she is a ranged caster, and a spider form, where she is melee fighter.

Advantages of playing Elise are that she has constant damage, stuns, gap closing skills and she can become invulnerable. Disadvantage, though, is that she is pretty squishy champion. She's also not easy to play.

She can be played various ways. She can be played as AP or AD lane / jungle champion, as a support, as a tank, well you name it and she can do it. Today, we will show you only one build that is only used by our staff, one build we've had hard time to discover. The one most craziest, proved the best!

Summoner spells:

Flash - Even though Elise has some form of gap reducing abilities, flash can be used as a gap making spell.

Ignite - This will help you finish off your target easier.

Note of caution: We will not talk about carrying other summoner spells because we feel that they are irrelevant for Elise. You can only take Smite instead of Ignite if you will going to jungle with her.

Skills:

Spider Swarm (Passive) Innate: When Elise's Human Form spells hit an enemy, she readies a Spiderling. When Elise transforms, she summons Spiderlings to attack nearby foes. The maximum number of spiderlings increases with Spider Form's level.
Spiderling Health: 100 + (25*level)
Spiderling Attack Speed: 0.665
Spiderling Armor: 30
Spiderling Magic Resistance: 50
Spiderling Movement Speed: 370

Explanation: Spiderlings are important so spend time casting in your human form to ready up your spiderlings for the battle. When in team battles, if they somehow die, switch to human form, fire up all the skills, and then go back to spider form. Spider form is really important in team fights, but Human form is more important in one vs one.

Neurotoxin/Venomous Bite Active: Deals magic damage equal to a base amount plus a percentage of the target's current health. Damage is capped against monsters.
Cost: 60 mana
Cooldown: 6 seconds
Active: Elise lunges to a target with a poisonous bite that deals magic damage equal to a base amount plus a percentage of the target's missing health. Damage is capped against monsters.
No cost:
Cooldown: 6 seconds

Base Magic Damage: 50/95/140/185/230
Bonus Damage: 8/% of target's current health/ (+0.02 per ability power)
Maximum Bonus Damage vs. Monsters: 60/120/180/240/300
Base Magic Damage: 50/95/140/185/230
Bonus Damage: 8% of target's missing health (+0.02 per ability power)
Maximum Bonus Damage vs. Monsters: 60/120/180/240/300

Explanation: Use it whenever possible. In spider form use it to reduce the gap between you and your target, and in human form use it to damage enemy from the safe distance. This is your strongest spell so pick it early on and max it first.

Volatile Spiderling/Skittering Frenzy Active: Summons a venom-gorged Spiderling that moves to target location and explodes, dealing magic damage to nearby enemies when it nears an enemy unit or after 3 seconds.
Cooldown: 12 seconds
Passive: Spiderlings gain bonus attack speed.
Active: Increases the attack speed of Elise and her Spiderlings for 3 seconds. While active, Elise is healed when she or her spiderlings attack.
No cost:

Cooldown: 12 seconds
Heal: 4

Cost: 60/70/80/90/100 mana
Magic Damage: 75/125/175/225/275 (+0.8 per ability power)
(+0.02 per ability power):
Spiderling Attack Speed: 5/10/15/20/25 %
Bonus Attack Speed: 60/80/100/120/140 %

Explanation: This spell gives you attack speed in spider form or sends a spider that will explode on first enemy it encounters. This is good spell for team fights as it provides you and your spiderlings greater attack speed which will deal more damage to the enemies. Take first point on level 2, but max it lastly.

Cocoon/Rappel Active: Elise fires a web that stuns the first enemy hit for 1.5 seconds.
Cost: 65 mana
Range: 975
Active (On enemy cast): Elise and her Spiderlings lift up into the air and then descend upon the target enemy.
Active (On ground cast): Elise and her Spiderlings lift up into the air, becoming untargetable for 2 seconds. She can then cast Rappel again to descend upon a nearby enemy.
No cost:

Range: 975

Cooldown: 14/13/12/11/10 seconds
Cooldown: 26/24/22/20/18 seconds

Explanation: This is the spell that provides you with stun in human form and invulnerability or gap closing skill in spider form. When you are targeted and out of cooldown, use this spell in spider form to become invulnerable, so you can try and do something later. In spider form use it also to catch up either your target or to juke enemies by jumping on their minion behind their backs. In human form use it to stun the enemy and kill it easily. Max it secondly, but pick first level of it on the third level.

Spider Form/Human Form Active: Elise transforms into a menacing spider, granting access to arachnid abilities. While in Spider Form, Elise deals bonus magic damage with her autoattacks and gains 10 movement speed as well as bonus armor and magic resistance.
Spiderlings deal physical damage and take reduced damage from multi-target abilities. The maximum number of Spiderlings is increased with Spider Form's level.
No cost:

Cooldown: 4 seconds
Active: Elise transforms into her human form, granting access to regular abilities.
No cost
Cooldown: 4 seconds

Bonus Armor & Magic Resist: 10/15/20/25
On-Hit Magic Damage: 10/20/30/40 (+0.2 per ability power)
Maximum Number of Spiderlings: 2/3/4/5
Spiderling Damage: 10/20/30/40 (+0.1 per ability power)
Spiderling Damage Reduction: 10/20/30/40 %

Explanation: This is the spell that you gain on level one and you should upgrade it whenever possible.

Build:

Start:

Boots of Speed, 3 health potion

Start this cause you could use mobility early on.

Early game goals:

Aegis of Legion

We said this will be the strange build. You should build Elise more tanky and as a support than solely AP based champion.

Blasting Wand

OK, you could use a bit of AP now. This will be enough for some time.

Sorcerer's Shoes

To gain more AP damage, since you won't be building it, get these shoes.

Middle game goals:

Frozen Heart

Get Frozen Heart to obtain more armor, to get cooldown reduction and more mana.

Rylai's Crystal Scepter

Now, build health and AP. This item will help you with it. You will be even more stronger thanks to this item.

Abyssal's Scepter

This item will give you even more AP and magical resistance. Furthermore, it will make you a stronger assassin and you won't need more AP and magic "penetration" furthermore.

Deciding on the sixth item (situational):

Note: You already have solid armor, magic resistance and health, but you should build it even more. To do that, we recommend one of the items below.

Randui's Omen

If none of your teammates buy this item and you have problems with enemy AD carry, go for this item as quickly as possible.

Sunfire Cape

You want to be able to enter a fight against many enemies and deal all of them damage? You want armor and health? This is the great item to obtain then.

Wit's End

This is not bad item to get since it gives magic resistance and attack speed. This is one of the most recommendable situational item to get.

Guardian Angel

If you are still dying too much, go for Guardian Angel.

Banshee's Veil

Go for this item if enemies have annoying AP caster and you want more magical resistance, health and mana. Not bad choice to get in the late game.

Tips & Tricks:

Elise is a type of a champion who you need to realize for yourself. We cannot tell you anything, what to do, because this is something you need to discover. Depending on what kind of player you are there are more than dozen solutions to play with her and it would take us ages to write everything.

We only recommend you that you should not jungle with the given build above.

With this build you'll be owning enemies, be strong and you won't be able to die easily.

We hope you liked this build! Share your comments with us!

We wish you all the best!

Introducing: Ashe, the Frost Archer

After a long time, we present to you one more, new guide.

Ashe is typical ranged carry. She is one of the first characters everyone starts to play with.

Advantages of playing her are that she can slow down enemies, stun them all across the map and gain vision of one location.

When playing her, you need to bare in mind that she has only one skill to deal additional damage and against the same fed carry in 1 v 1 battle she won't win.

Summoner spells:

Flash - We recommend this spell because she has no gap closing skills.

Ignite - This is one of two standard plays with carries. Ignite will burn down the target and secure the kill for you.

Replacements for Flash:

Heal - Honestly it gives us chills when we see this. We don't think that this spell is too relevant, but if your support cannot heal it could be barely useful.

Teleport - Helps you teleport right into the battle.

Exhaust - This spell may be relevant when battling in 1 v 1.

Skills:

Focus (Passive) While out of combat, Ashe's critical strike chance increases by 3/6/9/12/15/18% every 3 seconds, removed after next attack. Focus will now display a buff showing how much extra crit chance Ashe has

Explanation: This is solid passive, though we think that it could be made even better, because Ashe is not able to parry many AD carries. We think this passive is not useful at all, but in normal games can help secure the first blood.

Frost Shot Toggle: Ashe's basic attacks slow her target's movement speed by 15 / 20 / 25 / 30 / 35% for 2 seconds.

Cost 8mana per attack
Range 600

Explanation: This is Ashe's spell that helps her reduce enemies movement speed. This is good if you want to catch the enemy and you needn't to buy Frozen Mallet and similar items. On the other hand, in the early game it could be completely useless. Get it at level 2 but max it last.

Volley Ashe fires 7 arrows in a cone dealing attack damage + 40 / 50 / 60 / 70 / 80. Volley also applies Frost Shot.

Cooldown 20 / 16 / 12 / 8 / 4seconds
Cost 60mana
Range 600

Explanation: This is the only Ashe's damaging spell. Use it whenever it is available. Take first point early on and try to max it as quickly as possible, because of its cooldown.

Hawkshot Passive: Ashe gains 1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5 extra gold whenever she kills any unit.

Active: Ashe animates a Hawk to scout for her, revealing terrain as it flies toward target location.

Cooldown 60seconds
Range 6000

Explanation: This spell would have been great if it weren't for its long cooldown. Though, this spell gives you additional gold to compensate, so you should try to max it right after the Volley. Use this spell to discover where enemies are hiding or if you have the feeling you will get ganked. Use it whenever it's available. Take first point at level 3.

Enchanted Crystal Arrow Fires a large arrow in a straight line. If it hits an enemy champion, it will stun that champion for up to 3.5 seconds, based on the distance the arrow traveled, and deal 250 / 425 / 600 (+100% of ability power) magic damage. Additionally, surrounding units take half the damage and are slowed for 3 seconds.

Cooldown 100/90/80 seconds
Cost 150 mana
Range 20000

Explanation: This is one of the spells why Ashe is still being played. It is great for securing kills in team fights or solo battles. It is also good to help allies escape the certain death. Longer it traveled, longer enemies will be stunned. You should try to stun them as much as possible. Save this spell and initiate with it.

Building:

Start:

Boots of Speed, 3 health potions

Early game goals:

B.F. Sword

You should get it as soon as possible. Farm to get it. This item is of the greatest importance in early game.

Zeal

Go for Zeal next. It will give you more movement speed and attack speed. You can use it early on.

Vampiric Scepter

You could use life steal, so get this item.

Chain Vest

You possibly never saw this move, but since you will play against AD carry, you can put this item on a really good use.

Middle game goals:

Infinity Edge

Use the B.F. Sword and upgrade it to this item. Ashe isn't a kitting character, so you shouldn't go for Bloodthirster first. Vampiric Scepter will be enough. (to check what kitting means, visit the Vayne guide).

Mercury's Threads

This may be rather unusual move, but we feel that getting these shoes is the best available choice. It will make you more durable. Thanks to the Zeal in the beginning of the game, you don't need them 'till now.
Most common move would be: Boots of Swiftness, but you don't need that much speed. You can gain much better advantage wearing these. To compare and contrast the differences between these two on Ashe is like she was wearing heels (Boots of Swiftness) and army combat shoes (Mercury's Threads).

Phantom Dancer

Use the existing Zeal to form this item. This is classical for any AD carry and there is not too much to say about this.

The Bloodthirster

Getting this item next is of great relevance. Use the Vampiric Scepter to form this item. It will make you even more durable and make you a greater damager.

Late game goals:

Note: When playing Ashe, like many AD carries, you don't have situational items. You may still get some other items in the late game, but that's likely never to happen. You should focus on dealing damage, not playing tank, though, having a bit armor and magical resistance, or health, won't give you any troubles.

Fifth item:
vs vs
Ionic Spark, Last Whisper, Phantom Dancer

As your fifth item you should get one of these three. Ionic spark will give you ability to damage all the enemies. Last Whisper will help you if enemies are building armor like crazy. Phantom Dancer will help you in any other cases.

There are some items that can be bought as fifth item as well, but, as we said, it's not likely you will need them and that you could put them up for a good use.

Sixth item:

Guardian Angel

Building Guardian Angel will give you everything you needed. There is no one that would be able to stop you now. You should always include it in your build, but only as the last item. Use the Chain Vest to get this item.

Tips and Tricks:

There are not too many tips and tricks that we may share while playing Ashe. Playing AD carries comes with experience. You need to learn positioning which is the most important. You should always stay behind your allies and enemies won't be able to come near you. If enemies have characters like: Evelynn, than you must stay out of enemies range, but also, you mustn't be behind your allies. You can perform this by going on the sides in the battle, and if you see someone coming you from behind, ping your allies, and let them help you.

When laning, you shouldn't be too aggressive because Ashe is not actually the strongest AD carry in the game. Focus on farming and spam 'w' skill, whenever possible, to damage enemies.

As we said, always rely on your 'e' skill to reveal the map.

This is it for today! We hope you liked it and found it useful!

We wish you all the good luck on the fields of justice!
